Beef Misono with stir-fried vegetables

Good drink... Good meat... Good God... Let's eat! ~Dan Castellaneta (Homer Simpson)

Whenever my husband and I go to Tokyo Tokyo, we never fail to order the legendary Beef Misono. We are addicted to the garlicky and buttery taste of the beef and when it is paired with the stir-fried veggies, oh the taste is divine!

We didn't have the time to go to the mall and just to satisfy my cravings I decided to cook my own version of Beef Misono with stir-fried vegetables.

INGREDIENTS:

Beef Misono:
300g beef sirloin, thinly sliced
5 cloves garlic, minced
1/2 cup Kikkoman soysauce
2 tbsp butter
canola oil or any vegetable oil
salt and pepper to taste
1 head garlic, peeled, finely chopped, and fried until golden brown (for toppings)

Stir-fried vegetables:
1/4kg beansprouts
1/2 head cabbage, cut into pieces
1 medium size carrot, julliened
1 medium size white onion
canola oil or any vegetable oil
1 tsp butter
1/4 cup water or vegetable stock
salt and pepper to taste

DIRECTIONS:

Beef Misono:
1. Marinate the beef with Kikkoman soysauce for 30mins to 1 hour.
2. Heat the oil and add the garlic.
3. Put in the marinated beef. You will notice that the beef will release a lot of water. Wait until the water has evaporated and you will see the beef begins to dry fry.
4. Add butter.
5. Add salt and pepper to taste. You may also add more Kikkoman soysauce.
6. Topped with fried garlic before serving.

Stir-fried vegetables:
1. Put oil in a wok over high heat.
2. Add the onion.
3. Once the onion becomes translucent, add the carrots, beansprouts and cabbage, stirring occasionally for about a minute.
4. Add the water or vegetable stock and continue to cook and stir until vegetables become crisp-tender, for about 5 minutes.
5. When all the water has evaporated, add the butter and season with salt and pepper.

Serve this dish with hot steamed rice.

Douzo Meshiagare! Arigato Gozaimasu!

Yield: 2-3 servings

Happy day always,

Rhea

Will make this for dinner! Since there is no tokyo tokyo here in USA, this is a great way to ease my craving for beef misono. Hopefully my husband would like it.
